Just Long Enough

I have come to realize that the best thing to wear around here when it’s blazin’ hot and the humidity is 100+% is a skirt. Or a dress. Same difference.

I have this fab shirt dress that I got from Target (for $4.98!) a little while ago and even though I love love love it… I can’t wear it anywhere where I have to get gck-1 out of the back of the car. It’s just a little too short and I’m not one for showing off my goodies to tourists.

I also decided to make it a skirt instead of a shirt dress. (But I know that I recently saw plain v-neck tees in black and white on super sale at Target so I think I need to grab several of each fast!) This way, I can wear several different colored tanks or tees with each one. I need that. I need the ability to have several options.

I added a couple inches to the length of the skirt. And when testing it out at Publix, it felt good to know that I wasn’t flashing anyone! I also added some pockets. I like pockets.

For being my first article(s) of clothing sewed… I think I did a pretty good job :) Each one took about an hour to make, including cutting time. I can’t wait to make a couple more… slightly different, each as fabulous as the next!

And another really cool thing… I picked up both of those fabrics for like a buck a piece at Wally World last year before they stopped selling fabric. Yay!

Cute skirts! I love to wear skirts in summer too. It’s fun to have short skirts, but this length will be great when you’re in mommy-mode. Looks great!

It’s cute…and I’m glad you’re not into showing off to tourists…one thing I really can’t stand is when you see up someone’s dress…especially when they look so poorly back there!

I went to the mall this weekend with my family and let’s just say I saw way more than I’ve seen popping out of things in a long time…it wasn’t even skirts…sigh.

Agree! All I wear are skirts or dresses… way to hot to feel restricted! Super cute idea :)
