I told B of my plan to get everything cleaned and organized by the 1st of the year. He must’ve been on board with it because yesterday felt like we’ve done more around the house than ever!

I put the halloween stuff in the attic, finally.

I put the Christmas decoration boxes in the attic, again, finally.

We put up the Christmas lights outside and they look better than I thought they would. We didn’t feel like hanging the icicle ones overhead so we just placed them on the bushes kinda like they do with those “net” lights and they worked perfectly for it!

I actually let gck-1 play outside even though it was down pouring a half hour sooner. She got wet from sitting on the ground and crawling through the grass but she loved it, and that made me happy. The gross mud stains on her tights though, made me gag.

The dining room table no longer has wrapping paper or scrap paper or ornament hooks or magazines or candy or cards or anything like that on it! It now holds the nativity scene and for this second, my laptop.

The kitchen counters are cleaned off.

The laundry that was leftover from Thanksgiving… folded and hung. Just have to tackle a little more that I put in the wash before bed and I’ll be ready to go! That and the ironing. I hate ironing but it will be done!

I wrapped a couple presents.

I bought a couple presents.

I bought a bundt pan to make monkey bread in… and then realized I didn’t have enough butter or the right kind so I have everything prepared and sitting in their right bowls waiting for the butter!

I filed away everything that needed to be filed.

I moved the dogs eating area from our front door to where their water dish is. And then scrubbed the tile and grout and now we actually have a nice looking foyer.

We went grocery shopping.

And I believe that last but not least…

we finally put the first coat of paint up in our bedroom. And might I say,

It feels good to be home.

it’s feels different to put lights up on a palm tree but I think I like the feeling!

that’s B taking down the last strand he put up… I reminded him the plug should be at the bottom not the top!
