Second Plane Ride
The first time we took gck-1 on a plane was great. She was only 5 months old and loved to be held and cuddled with. She drank her bottle going up in the air and passed out within minutes afterward and stayed asleep almost the entire trip. Perfect.
Fast forward 7 months to my soon to be 1 year old who is now 32 inches and weighs 22 pounds and hates cuddling.
As soon as she sees her sippy cups she starts screaming and since I couldn’t bring juice in it already, I’m trying to pour some into it while the people around me are starting to think they should’ve booked a different flight. With juice in the sippy cup she downs it within a matter of 30 seconds. We haven’t even moved to the runway yet. The next 2 hours are filled with her sitting on my lap, her dads lap, both our laps at the same time, every toy in her carry on being played with twice, and I’m sure the stewardess was happy with the sea of goldfish on the ground.
We all know it stinks to fly with kids but when they’re your own, time seems to go a little more slowly and the seats are even less comfortable than they already could be… not to mention don’t even think about putting your tray table down or going to the bathroom because each will cause a meltdown.
The joys of flying ;)
