The Sickos Won

It hit us hard Saturday night while we were gone celebrating the hubs birthday.
It crept in slowly, the sickness that is, but showed it’s ugly snaggletooth face very very early on Sunday morning.

We thought it was slowly creeping it’s way out Monday night. Just one of those tiny bugs that comes and goes.
The kiddo’s fever had almost diminished. Her cough was sounding better. Appetite was back.

And then she barked at me. Yes, barked. You know, that nasty sound that hurts your own throat even though you’re not the one coughing bark. Yeah, that one. Barking. Sniffling. Feverish. Arms shaking. Glassy eyes.

I hate this place. It gives me the heebie geebies! But she said her ears hurt and that’s nothing I want to try to conquer on my own. Sometimes I have to admit defeat. Double ear infection and strep.

Lord hold me now. Hold me, hold my child, hold us together tight and close to your chest as you rock us and take this sickness away. Bring peace. Bring comfort. Bring rest. We love you and thank you for watching over us this whole time. It could be worse. I could be sick as well. My ears are sensitive so please Lord, please cover your hands over my ears and protect them as well! She may be sick and she might not be the little ray of sunshine that she normally is, but she’s still my angel, my baby, and I thank you for her!
