Smoothies for Lunch

I had the word’s worst migraine this morning… it hurt to even open my eyes… so the blender was not turned on until lunch.

Today’s Lunchtime Smoothie included the following delicious ingredients:
1/4 cup dark cherries, 1/2 cup canned crushed pineapple, 2 bananas, 1 6oz Orange Crème yogurt, 1 cup orange juice (Florida’s Natural of course!) and 1 cup crushed ice. Makes 2 tall smoothies.

I loved this smoothie. I played off of the Orange Crème yogurt with the ingredients and I knew that it would be sweet but I didn’t want it to be too sweet. I added the cherries for a little bit of color and you couldn’t even taste them. The crushed pineapple added a wonderful little tang that was very much needed to help balance the sweetest from the yogurt. It was a pretty smooth smoothie. No chunks. No cubes. Just smooth smoothie drinking. And with the weather being as incredibly hot and humid as it has been, this smoothie was such a well deserved cool treat. Hope you enjoy it!

I can’t imagine the sounds of a blender when you have a migraine! Today’s combination sounds yummy. I never would have thought to add cherries, but what a great splash of color. The taste of pineapple, bananas and OJ sound so refreshing. Hope it helped your migraine!

Sounds good. Did you use canned cherries or fresh?

Orange cream sounds sooo good! But I still cringe at the idea of cherries lol!
Hope your headache is all gone away by now!
