Smoothie a Day and Updates Galore

You know what I love even more than hosting giveaways? I love when the winner posts a picture or two of what they’ve received. It’s such a great feeling to know that they liked what they got and are happily sharing their winnings with the world.

My “Random” giveaway winner, Christine, posted this picture of her winnings on her blog, A Rich Man’s Family

That giveaway was so much fun. I was actually thinking about doing a “random” giveaway a month. Ya dig?

Today’s smoothie was a complete hodge podge of what we had in the fridge/freezer. The picture is also the effect of what happens when your toddler over sleeps and you have .5 minutes to get everything ready and head out the door… after they wake up. But now you know what the smoothies look like when they’re blended!! So cheers to that!

Today’s random smoothie included the following ingredients: 1 banana, about 3/4 cup of pink lemonade, about 1/2 cup sliced canned peaches, about 1/2 cup frozen strawberries, 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup crushed ice and 1 orange.

It was absolutely delicious! If you don’t like sweet smoothies, do not make this. It’s sweet. Not too sweet for me though!

I’m thinking about doing 2 pictures from now on. A “before” with the ingredients pre-liqufied and an “after” which shows their new liquified state. Do you like that idea?

Last night was the first flag football game of B’s that we went to watch over in Destin. It was beyond humid out. It had just rained and it was sticky. Good thing I wore shorts. I never wear shorts. Ever. ever ever. I’m like most women and hate the way their legs look in shorts. I own 1 pair. I live in Florida. Make sense? Yeah I didn’t think so either. Anyway, I took some pictures from the game…

I was happily watching the game while she was talking to her animal “coopies” and then I look over to find her bent over, stealing some of my Dr. Pepper. Turns out she didn’t just steal “some” of it… she stole 3/4 of it. Guess who had to spend the 2nd half of the game running after her almost two year old… in the hot sticky nasty humidity. Again, good thing I wore shorts ;)

Bad me. I shot absolutely no pictures of B playing. I was too busy chasing gck-1 around. Oh, and then there was the poo diaper. I won’t go into detail about it because that’s gross. What’s even grosser is how sweaty I was just from walking her to the car and back. I have a chance to take more pictures and to redeem myself next week when B starts a new flag football league. I’m just so happy that he’s playing football again. It makes him happy too. :) And he’s good. Like super good. Like please don’t try and compare my man to yours with football skills because B wins every time. I just had to brag. What can I say, I’m proud of my man!

On a more serious note… I went to check on my garden this morning… my tomato plant was completely on the ground. I believe I bought too small of a stake holder thingee, you know, the three set circle wire thingee… I have no idea what they’re called but I do know that this one is too small and not strong enough to hold my husky tomato plant. I’ll be pulling out the hemp tonight to jimmy-rig it and hopefully we won’t have that problem again. Oh and my cucumber plant that’s in the topsy turvy, is growing a new little yum yum. :)

Another serious note… my strawberry plants are not growing and the blueberry plant that I planted’s leaves are turning brown. Agh. Not at all what I expected or what my hopes and dreams had included. But on the plus side, gck-1 gave me one of those $1.00 strawberry plants in clay pots that Target sells and I planted them thinking nothing of it… but today I finally saw a beautiful little sprout growing. It made my heart skip a beat :) If my strawberry plants still aren’t growing by next weekend… I think I might have to find some more strawberry seeds to plant!

Oh and FedEx left a door tag on my door yesterday. I wonder who could have sent something by FedEx to us. I say “us” because I have no idea if it’s for me or if it’s for B. I had them re-route it to my office so that I will be the one to sign for it. I’m excited. Mystery packages are so exciting! I’ll send you a mystery package if you ask. I’m serious. And I’m in a good giving mood :)

I can’t believe you refuse to wear shorts. That is crazy. You will surely die of a heatstroke. Just a warning.
Soda is not good for the little runners…oh, wait you know that.
I hope it has wore off by now. :0
I got those three poled tomato holders (walmart or target) and they worked great. They form a triangle with bars in between and it is adjustible.
The bad thing? My tomato plants have been raped of their tomatos. I don’t know it if was racoons or my dogs. Or big foot.
    I am so madddddd.
Good luck on the mystery package!!!!

I am totally with you on the shorts. I lived in St Louis, MO for 9 years and the entire time I owned exactly 1 pair of shorts; a pair of ragged khaki cutoffs. Even now that I’m technically living in “The South” I don’t own shorts. When it’s hot I’d much rather wear a skirt with bloomers underneath so I don’t always have to act all lady-like. If I wanna run around the dog park chasing the dogs back and forth like a crazy woman or climb on the monkey bars with friends’ 3 year old boy and subsequently wonder how my knees are still intact from all that hanging upside down from them I used to do in grade school, by golly I’m gonna do it. Just not in shorts.
