Small Garden Beauties

Sometimes I’m only there long enough to pass through…
Other times I’m there all day refreshing my soul…

This morning I was there twice. Once to pass through, and another to smile and feel refreshed.

My cucumbers are doing so well. Yum yum yum… cucumbers. I’ve never been able to grow them before so I am beyond excited that they love their home.

I had to build a trellis last weekend for my tomatoes. They are growing so nice and tall and strong and I’m pretty sure that they’ll be blessing us with amazing tomatoes until the fall. Maybe it’s because I play music for them whenever I’m out there :)

Even though my peppers are growing super slow, I know they won’t disappoint. They never do.

I picked several cherry tomatoes from my cherry tomato plant. I hated them growing up but these have become my all time favorite tomato to eat. Packed with so much deliciousness, my mouth waters thinking about them!

I rescued my dill and basil. It was yellow, wilting, dying… They both give off such wonderful scents and I’m so glad to see they like the garden better than the patio!

I planted some carrots and red potatoes a couple weeks ago. The carrots are just starting to show their beautiful lil heads but those potatoes… well they just need time to grow. I’m always amazed by how many potatoes one little eye can produce.

There are 2 different kinds of zinnias growing. I harvested the seeds from last years zinnias and planted new ones this year, they’re growing strong and tall quickly. The others I bought from the store… small, bushy, but giving off lots of flowers. These will both gift us with enough flowers to produce a bouquet a day soon! Such a wonderful thing to be able to have in the house and garden!

My first time growing sunflowers has been a success! HUGE smile in my heart for that :)

The leaves that fell in the garden will disappear today. The weeds will also be pulled and it will look like a brand new garden. I’ll be in the garden for a couple hours doing this… but it’s always worth it. I could spend 15 minutes every day doing this or I could just spend a couple hours on the weekend doing it. I prefer the couple hours. It makes me excited. It gives me fuel for the rest of the week. It feels wonderful.

I love that my garden is a reflection of who I am. I love the Earth. I love getting my hands dirty. I love being able to literally stop, look around, and have my mind completely cleared because of the overwhelming beauty that I just experienced. My name is Stephanie, and I have a garden :)
