Throw Me Another Curveball
Talk about the craziest storms ever last night! Marlee hates thunderstorms. And let’s not get started on what she thinks of the flashes from the lightning. Either way she walks around aimlessly from room to room trying to find a place to hide. Under the covers doesn’t work. She gets anxiety and needs to walk around. So the pitter pattering from her nails on the tile throughout the house is enough to drive someone crazy! Then there was the water that started quickly dripping in from our window. B’s off to Lowes to get something to repair it. We’ll see how long the fix lasts! ;)
Top of the mornin’ breakfast… creamer-sugar-coffee with a side of papa john’s sausage-mushroom-onion pizza and cheesesticks. I woke up hungry. Leave me be ;) And that’s the Little Mermaid playing in the background. I’m trying to get gck-1 to watch normal videos and not Dora. So far she digs it… as the second picture will show.
But enough about rain and thunder and lightning… let’s move on to something more enjoyable. Oh wait, I forgot to tell you. I tricked you. This is a Debby Downer post. You see, Mother Nature hates me. Well, sometimes she smiles on me and let’s me take a good picture or two of her.
But then we walk around the corner of the house to find her secretly waiting to laugh at me.
Look at how fat they’ve gotten from eating my potatoes.
Go grab a tissue. You’ll need it. I promise. Unless you hate potatoes.
That’s all that is left of my potatoes. The combo of the storm and the cabbage worms knocked it out. And if you look closely, the cabbage worms already munched away on this one but there weren’t any on it so I left it alone. The cabbage worms have touched everything in my garden. Oh wait, they don’t like basil or parsley… yet. I carefully looked at every leave on every plant and this is what I’m left with:
It doesn’t look as bad as it really is because I took the picture close up. I can’t crush my garden ego completely! So Mother Nature, I can still hold my head up high! My cucumber plant in my homemade topsy turvy is thriving :)
And I can’t wait to sink my teeth into some husky’s!
And I managed to somehow save a couple potatoes. They’re needing love… that’s why they’re on the love plate :) I’m hoping they’re going to grow an eye or two and I can re-plant them.
Sorry for the picture heavy post. Sometimes life is just better shown in pictures. And now it’s time to lay out. Theclouds have cleared and the sun is beckoning me. I suppose I should do some laundry but Sundays are a day of rest are they not?!
Have a great Sunday everyone!

What is the deal with the bugs in your garden…they must not eat anywhere but at your home!!!!! **tear tear**
Little one is so cute…love that photo.
Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog last week! It was so nice to find your blog through that comment. What a little sweetie you have! And I am super impressed that you are fostering your very own garden. I couldn’t even imagine taking that on. I have a black thumb! :)
