There is still no oil here! It’s such a miracle! I know that it’s unavoidable. It will reach our beautiful sand sooner or later but right now it seems to be later! We’ve had a little bit of wind and rain this afternoon that kinda scared me. It’s not like it was raining cats and dogs or anything scary like that but the winds… any time the wind blows it scares me. It makes me feel like it will blow the oil here at any second. But it didn’t. The oil has stayed away and from the looks of all the reports, it looks like it will stay away for yet another weekend. Talk about a great gift for Father’s Day! We plan on heading down to the beach and taking the kayak out for one last trip. I keep saying that every weekend, “one last trip,” and the oil keeps staying away and we get to go out for yet another weekend.
Isn’t the water beautiful!? I loved that on my lunch I could take a nice break and dip my feet in the water. I would’ve liked to have been in my suit and on a raft floating for hours but that’s for the weekend ;)

Keep the oil updates comin… my family and i are coming to PCB in a few weeks oil or no oil, but i like to know what i’m in for ahead of time… great site love the videos!!!

I am so happy to hear that you and your family are coming down here oil or no oil! It looks like it might rain here but if it doesn’t, I will head down to the beach tonight and take a couple pictures :) We had some tar balls wash up on the far far west end of the beach but the crews cleaned it up in less than an hour. And I was in the water Sunday and other than a little “June grass” it was clear and perfect. Again, thank you for not canceling your plans due to the oil. The pictures don’t lie… It’s still absolutely gorgeous down here!

Hi, our boys are dying to go to the beach but because we have a 3 year old with health problems we cannot chance the oil and what it might do to him. We are in the Montgomery area and had heard that PCB was getting oil as of yesterday. Is this not true? Could you please email me and let me know? Thank you for doing this. It is hard when so many people are saying so many different things. We aren’t there so we don’t know for ourselves.
