I Need Order!!!
I can’t live like this any longer…
And this actually isn’t even half of it. The other half is all over the bedroom floor. And wall. And kitchen table.

(ummm… whatcha doin’ mom?)
It all started like this…
Nice,
Mostly neat,
Mostly organized.
But definitely lacking in potential and there was a lot of unused space that drove me crazy.
So I did this…

(we’ll wait here until it’s safe)
And it turned into this…

Goodbye gray wall! Goodbye weird unmatched bookcases! Goodbye weird unused space!
I have some screwdrivers, a drill, a 6″ level, and some um… nails?! But I managed to get everything completely level which is absolutely astonishing.
I made B marvel at it with me. (several times!)
And then I started happily hanging clothes…
And then the happiness turned to terror when I heard cracking noises.
You’ve Got To Be Kidding Me!!!
I took everything down. And then spent the rest of the night on google.
Lesson learned… do research. Do more research than you think you need BEFORE you start a project. It will save you time, sanity, money, but at least you’ll drink lots of diet coke in the mean time ;)

No. Way. I actually gasped when I saw it all on the floor!
Maybe you need a stud-finder.
That and I didn’t have the right anchors! I just rented a nail gun… I’m framing it this time around and fingers crossed it will help!
Yikes! Like Steph said – a stud-finder might be a very good idea!! Kudos to you for getting them level though! :( It looked fantastic though, I just wish it would have worked out as planned!!
Yeah, our stud finder… sucked. I invested in a new one, and a nail gun, and so far… It’s turning out amazingly well! I can’t wait to finish it tomorrow! And then to accessorize!! Yay!M
Ugh. That has happened to multiple closets at my house, haha …
I’ve decided that all closets need to be made with mega board framing and all connections into studs. Better yet, builders should but stud/framing in the closet already, to make it easier ;o)
i feel your pain! something similar happened to me, only it was in my pantry. bags of flour, broken jars of spaghetti sauce, etc.. etc. it was a total nightmare. (oh, and i was 8 months pregnant. talk about emotional meltdown!) i can laugh about it now, but man, it was NOT funny at the time!
sorry, friend!!
sooo i was going to leave a comment about how much that would make me cry…
but then i noticed that in one of your photos one of your dogs is SITTING on the other one. And I laughed out loud.
amazing.
