Vinegar?
From time to time I stop by the AllYou.com website to browse away. I saw this featured article on 36 uses for vinegar and thought that it might actually be worth reading.

I was pleasantly surprised with what I read. Here are some of the tips that I’ll be putting to use around our house:
2. Make old socks look new. Get the stains out of old socks and sweaty gym clothes by soaking them in a vinegar solution. Add 1 cup of white distilled vinegar to a large pot of water, bring to a boil and drop in the stained clothes. Let them soak overnight, and in the morning stained clothes are fresh and bright. (B plays flag football 2 times a week and basketball here and there as well so getting socks really white is really important to me. Can’t wait to try this out!)
6. Put an end to itching. Dab a cotton ball soaked in white vinegar on mosquito bites and insect stings. It will stop them from itching and help disinfect the area so they heal faster. (This might be the answer to my prayers! I swear as soon as I step outside, every bug that’s within 50 feet of me rushes to eat me up!)
10. Let your dog shine. Spray your dog with one cup white distilled vinegar mixed with one quart water. The solution is a cheap alternative to expensive pet-care products, plus the vinegar will help repel pests like fleas and ticks. (This will be great in the winter when the ticks seem to cling to my puppies)
17. Rinse fruits and vegetables. Add 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar to one pint water. Use the mixture to wash fresh fruits and vegetables, then rinse thoroughly. The solution kills more pesticide residue than does pure water. (We buy a veggie/fruit spray but haven’t seen it lately. I’ll be loving this if it works like it says it will!)
32. Restore showerhead pressure. If your showerhead gets clogged with mineral deposits, soak it for 15 minutes in a mixture of ½ cup vinegar and 1 quart water. (I’m not sure if our showerhead is clogged or if it’s our water pressure that is causing an issue but I’ll give this a go first and see what happens.)
Aren’t those great uses?! Head on over to the article, here, to check them out for yourself. You may be surprised with what you read.

If you mix 1/2 vinegar to 1/2 rubbing alcohol you can use it to dry swimmers ear and prevent infection. Been doing it my whole life! I get swimmers ear from the shower . . . it is so wrong.
Ooo… Good one about the swimmers ear! I tend to get it a lot in the summer so thanks for this!!
