Inspiration for Quilts
This is what I bought over the weekend:
8 yards are from wal-mart… I know I know, but I’m a beginner so it’s all good!
6 yards are from Jo Ann’s Fabrics… I went there for the first time ever 3 nights ago! I’ve never ever bought fabric so I’m pretty damn proud of myself!
3 fat quarters from Jo Ann’s Fabrics.
Now that I’ve shown you what I’ve got… here’s some of my inspiration for what I want to make down the road:
Strings blocks by Susan from FlossieBlossoms… uber jealous!
Wonky Quilt by Susan from FlossieBlossoms…
Wonky Understatement from Red Barn Co.
The quilt that first got me inspired from Red Barn Co.
Helen from Patchy Work of Mini Grey
Circle Quilt from Red Pepper Quilts
Wonky 9 patch from Square One Studio
Big Nate Quilt from A Stitch in Dye
Lemonade by Susan at FlossbieBlossoms
Ok so I have to admit… I am pretty intimidated with the ultimate greatness that every quilter produces… but you have to start somewhere, and I’ll start with an easy one ;) First I need a better sewing machine. The one I have was, sadly, the one I asked for for Christmas. I should’ve known better. It was cheap. Super cheap. And it was from Target. After threading and re-threading and checking tensions and doing everything that I can possibly think of, the damn thread still breaks. I even bought new thread. It’s annoying. It’s going on craigslist this weekend and B promised me he’d buy me a more expensive one :) Love him!

Awesome project. I especially love the little purple and blue birds.
It is a very time consuming process. It will be tempting to cut corners, but take your time and it will turn out wonderfully.
