No Light Bulb Required
I am one of those people who buys things and stores them away for months at a time hoping that I’ll bring them out one day to turn them into something pretty. I’m guessing a year ago I bought this weird canvas pop up laundry bag thing from Target. It had a white and black damask print on it and I loved it. For $2.50, what’s not to love. And we actually used it for a while. I was going to try and turn it into a lamp shade but that didn’t work out at all. And the fabric was definitely not canvas. It was some some of weird rubbery feeling faux canvas. *roll your eyes here with me please* I tossed the faux fabric and was left with this big metal ring. I stashed it. Then about oh probably 3 months ago I bought this mini candlestick lampshade. It reminded me of one we had growing up. I wanted to gut it. It was hideous. No before pictures… but imagine some gross off white and stained home decor fabric. Would you want to take a picture of that? Or see it?! Me either. So I gutted it. And it sat in my office for those 3 months. Always in plain sight too. I figured if I put it where I could see it, I’d want to stop looking at how ugly it was and turn it into something beautiful.
So yesterday was my day to actually love on those ugly craft throw aways. I took the majority of the pictures you’re about to enjoy last night when I finished it so they may be just a little dark and full of horrible lighting, my apologies, but I still love them. I snapped a couple more this morning and fell in love with my trashy treasure all over again.
Enjoy!
