Songs that Filled My Wedding
My wedding may have already passed, but I thought I would share with you some of the songs that we chose for the event.
For guests to listen to as they arrived we chose:
1. Every Breath You Take by UB40
2. Three Little Birds by Bob Marley
For the Best Man and the Maid of Honor we chose:
Love Song by 311 (one of B’s favorites)
For my Song we chose:
Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
For our Introduction (still at the ceremony) we chose:
Outversion by Mark Ronson
For the reception, we hired an amazing guitarist who we’d actually first heard at one of our christmas work parties. His name is Jimmy Ward and he was absolutely everything I could have possibly imagined and more. I knew from the second I heard him play and sing at the christmas party that I wanted him to play at our reception. Amazing. He sang songs he wrote and some that everyone knew, like “Just the Two of Us” and “Purple Rain.” He also made several dedications to me and B… my favorites were:
“Betcha by Golly, Wow” (which I’m still humming and singing in my head)
and our song, “Killing Me Softly” (which brought tears to my eyes)
